California State Library is Hiring! 2 Library Programs Consultant positions

The California State Library is hiring for 2 Library Programs Consultant positions in the Library Development Services Bureau! This is an exciting opportunity to join a great team of colleagues who work with libraries and partners around the state to develop and implement innovative projects. If you’re a creative, progressive-minded professional, and a strategic thinker with initiative and a desire to foster and inspire library innovation, this could be the perfect job for you!

As these are state civil service positions, there are two steps to apply:

Step 1: If you are not already on the State Library’s hiring list for the Library Programs Consultant classification,  you’ll need to take an online exam. This exam is available 24/7 on our website at http://www.library.ca.gov/about/jobs/libprogcons.html and can be taken at any time.

Step 2: Apply for the position(s). This includes submitting a standard application form (STD 678) and other required documents (resume, cover letter, etc.).

Please see the job posting online (https://jobs.ca.gov/CalHrPublic/Jobs/JobPosting.aspx?JobControlId=79395) for a full description of the positions, application requirements, and links to the online exam and the standard application form.

Application deadline is October 20, 2017.

You can take the exam and also apply for the position at the same time. Exams are scored on a continuous basis, but you will have to pass the exam before you can be considered for an interview.
