Frequently Asked Questions — Communicating with NCCU

  • What are the different methods that NCCU might send important information to me, and what can I do to ensure that I receive the communication?NCCU communicates with students via their official NCCU email address. The University considers this your official email account and will send important emails to that address. In fact, the official policy of the University states that “The University when communicating with Faculty, Staff and Students via electronic mail will only do so using the official NCCU e-mail address.”

    The official e-mail address for students at NCCU is username@mail.nccu.edu. To view your email address, go into your Banner account and select “Personal Information” and “View E-mail Address(es).”

    NCCU also sends information via U.S. Mail. Your address and phone number should be kept up to date in Banner so that the University can contact you when necessary.

    To update your address and phone number, please go into your Banner account and go to “Personal Information” and “View Address(es) and Phone(s).”

  • How does NCCU SLIS send out information?NCCU SLIS sends out general information to students through its Yahoo! Groups list, nccuslisstudents. You can join the group by visitinghttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/nccuslisstudents/join.
