Objectives of the Satellite meeting:
• To bring together LIS education experts from the developing countries and other parts of the world to share experience and expertise in developing LIS Curriculum for LIS Education in Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean.
• To encourage collaboration and exchange of ideas amongst LIS educators in developing counties.
• To suggest and propose a guideline for curriculum development in teaching, research and service.

We invite you to join colleagues from Africa, Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean to share, inspire, and motivate each other.

Papers will be presented in the following areas:

  • Understanding the Curriculum in Relation to Developing Countries
               Definition - Concepts – Philosophy  - Pedagogical Approaches
  • Goals of LIS Education in Developing Countries
               Core Competencies
  • The Study of Theory, Principles, Practices, and Values needed for LIS Education in  Developing Countries.

  • Integration of ICT – Clashes of Tradition and Technology
