Job Posting: Senior Research Associate (Curator), Washington DC

LAC Federal is seeking a Senior Research Associate (Curator) to provide strategic leadership and management of federal digital library and repository focusing on international aid and development as well as supporting areas.  The Associate will lead a team of digital librarians, metadata specialists, and other supporting staff in developing a secure, trustworthy data/information environment consisting of multiple digital repositories and some physical assets.  The Associate will be responsible for total lifecycle management of the repositories and will collaborate with contract and federal staff in moving toward a trusted digital repository that meets or exceeds OAIS and other standards for data curation and preservation. Work will be performed on-site at the client’s location in Washington DC. This is a full-time contract, benefited position.

The Durham County Library is currently seeking a Library Youth Partnership Coordinator.

The Durham County Library is currently seeking a Library Youth Partnership Coordinator. It is a part-time position, based at Durham County Library’s MakerLab at Northgate Mall.  The Library Youth Partnership Coordinator has the opportunity to work with teens, the Library Youth Partners, to develop storytime programs for elementary students. The Coordinator then travels with the Library Youth Partners to perform the programs at different elementary schools and organizations in the community, usually twice a week.

Indiana State Library seeking Indiana Young Readers Center Librarian

The Indiana State Library is currently seeking a librarian for our Indiana Young Readers Center.
 
The Young Readers Center (IYRC) Librarian will be the public services  coordinator  of events for school-aged children at the State Library.  This librarian will coordinate field trips with school groups, camps, and other interested youth groups.  They also curate the State Library’s collection of materials by Indiana Authors and about Indiana for children and young adults, and provide reference and research support for the Indiana Division as well as programming support for the Children’s Services Coordinator. This position acts as Director of the Indiana Center for the Book.  This position performs independently and reports to the Indiana Division supervisor and Director of Public Services.
 
Responsibilities:
Works independently as well as in a team environment so must be able to adapt to either situation as the need arises.
Assists in directing the work of the IYRC assistant and any volunteers, interns, and student employees within the IYRC.
Develop and implement children’s programming at the State Library.
Fulfill the requirements of the Pursuit of Pride fieldtrip grant.
Maintain the Indiana Children’s Authors and Illustrators website.
Act as Director for the Indiana Center for the Book-which includes administrating Letters About Literature campaign and representing the State of Indiana at National Book Fest.
Required to participate in professional development to ensure certification is maintained as well as to stay current on developing children’s services and technology.
 
Qualifications: Candidate will have Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited School of Library and Information Science plus 2 years of relevant experience working in Children’s Services.
