Local Chapters of the NCCU SLIS Alumni Association

There are over 20 NCCU SLIS Alumni Chapters across the world. Chapters keep you connected to your alma mater while providing professional and social networking opportunities. Chapters are groups of NCCU SLIS alumni, friends, and parents who wish to share in their commonality. Chapters help promote the interests and welfare of NCCU SLIS and its constituents, encourage activities in a community, and provide opportunities for NCCU SLIS alumni to become better acquainted.

Through the chapter program the Alumni Association hopes to meet the varied needs and interests of alumni. We want to keep alumni informed of events and activities at the School. We also hope to broaden their understanding and appreciation of the world around them through continuing education programs and cultural events. We encourage chapter involvement in recruiting and hope that chapters can give scholarships to local students in their areas attending NCCU SLIS. We hope that chapters can sponsor special fundraising projects for specific needs of the School of Library and Information Sciences. Chapters are encouraged to become active in community service projects, directly benefiting an element of their community while promoting NCCU SLIS and its alumni. And of course, there is the social aspect present in all chapter activities.

If you are a dues-paying member of the NCCU SLIS Alumni Association and live in one of the areas served by a chapter, you are automatically a member of that chapter.
